Paris Saint-Germain and Olympique Lyonnais faced off this Sunday at Parc OL as part of Matchday 12 of the 2025-2026 Ligue 1 season. The match ended in a 3-2 victory for PSG. After the game, Lyon midfielder Corentin Tolisso (31 years old) spoke to reporters in the mixed zone.
Tolisso: “We played a good match, we’ll take that away from it.”
What are your feelings?
Right now, it’s tough, I won’t lie. It’s hard to talk and not say anything silly. We played a good match, we’ll take that away from it. We didn’t deserve to lose. We defended well, they didn’t have many chances. Unfortunately, there was that corner where we should have been stronger, more aggressive.
Tolisso: “It’s complicated, it’s tough, we don’t understand everything that’s happening.”
Are the refereeing decisions against you frustrating?
(He sighs) Honestly… I want to say things, but it’s complicated. I haven’t seen all the replays. But, for me, there’s a penalty with a blatant handball. Their second goal is debatable; I’ve seen the replay, it could have been given at the start of the play. There could have been a penalty on Nico (Tagliafico).
As far as the refereeing is concerned, it needs to be better. There are mistakes every weekend. We saw it during Monaco/Lens. In Rennes, there’s no red card for the opposing team. There’s not even VAR. It’s complicated, it’s tough, we don’t understand everything that’s happening. There needs to be more dialogue. We have meetings with a referee at the beginning of the season, and it’s not being enforced. Plus, this year we’re paying a lot. It’s frustrating.
Tolisso: “Ultimately, we can be happy.”
Regret about not going after PSG more?
No, we don’t have any regrets. We might have some about the corner. But we played a very good match, both defensively and offensively. We were efficient, we took the chances we had. It was PSG we were facing, and we played very well. After that, there were some decisions that didn’t go our way. But overall, we can be happy, with our aggression.
