Paris Saint-Germain displayed a highly dominant style of play last season, based on possession and high-intensity pressing. A style reminiscent of the great FC Barcelona or Manchester City in 2021. In an interview with Média Carré, Riyad Mahrez, the 34-year-old player who played for Manchester City from 2018 to 2023, shared his thoughts on this Parisian team.
Mahrez: “These guys are killers, they run everywhere.”
“It reminds me of when I was at Manchester City, back in our time 3-4 years ago when we played without a striker. You had to come and get us. They play with intensity, they’re technically sharp, these guys are killers, they run everywhere.
You’ve got Ousmane, who’s on fire. The other players around him also make the difference. So you need a bit of everything. Luis Enrique is like Pep Guardiola, same school of thought. So I’m happy for them. It’s a great team.”
