Marquinhos, the 31-year-old central defender and captain of Paris Saint-Germain, was at a press conference on the sidelines of the Seleçao’s June training camp. This was the perfect opportunity to talk about PSG’s Champions League victory over Inter Milan (5-0) on Saturday.
Marquinhos “it was very special”.
My voice is coming back, but it’s a bit different now (laughs). But the last few days and nights have been very moving. I think it’s worth pointing out that Paris has believed for 12 years in a project that seemed very far away, and has achieved that goal.
It wasn’t an obsession for the club, but it was an objective. And to have achieved it in that way was very special. To be part of that moment was really gratifying. And today, to be here as a Champions League winner is very gratifying.
Marquinhos “I’m now ready to get to work to achieve our goals here.”
And now the work continues. This is our life, things go very fast. I had a day to celebrate (smile). I’ve got my voice back, my body is recovering from the match, and I’m now ready to get down to work to achieve our goals here.
