Senny Mayulu, the 18-year-old Paris Saint-Germain-trained midfielder, spoke to France Télévisions. The youngster, who is gradually establishing himself in the squad, took the opportunity to reflect on the start of the season, with his 1st Ligue 1 goal, and to talk about coach Luis Enrique and the pride he takes in his achievements.
Regular playing time with PSG this season?
I’m very happy with my start to the season. Especially as I didn’t think I’d be back this early in the season. It proves that I’m working well every day.
The coach has put his trust in me. Honestly, it’s incredible, and I’m going to keep on working every day to get more and more playing time.
Mayulu: “It’s an incredible opportunity”.
Luis Enrique?
He’s a really good coach. He’s my first professional coach and to be able to have him is an incredible opportunity. He’s great with the youngsters. He talks to us and gives us lots of advice. Both on and off the pitch.
Your 1st professional goal against Strasbourg?
I made a pass to Bradley on the side, we played a one-two, I saw the keeper and I didn’t think, I tapped it in and it was a goal. It was a crazy moment, to be able to score at the Parc, with the fans, it was incredible. I celebrated with the team.
A long way to get here?
It’s incredible, because I used to play in Epinay. They don’t even call me Senny anymore, but Mayulu! It’s a source of pride for me and my whole family. We’re going to carry on like this.
