Mike Maignan, the 29-year-old French national team and AC Milan goalkeeper with a contract until 2026, has been mentioned as one of Paris Saint-Germain’s mercato targets. Journalist Fabrice Hawkins, however, says that this is something to forget.
“Mike Maignan to extend AC Milan contract until 2028. There’s an agreement in principle between Milan and the France goalkeeper
In three and a half years, he has become one of the captains and one of the strongest men in the squad
Last summer, PSG made Maignan their number 1 target and were seriously considering bringing him back in the event of Gianluigi Donnarumma’s departure.”
Maignan extending his contract at Milan is a totally credible outcome. And this journalist is relatively reliable. In any case, we’d be very surprised to see Maignan return to PSG any time soon. His parent club is already well equipped in this position, and other leads have been mooted more recently.
Nevertheless, we remain cautious, as soccer can be surprising. At the very least, the French international’s future may not end up at Milan, where he has also had some recent difficulties.
