After arriving at Paris Saint-Germain in 2023 from Benfica, 23-year-old striker Gonçalo Ramos endured a difficult period of adaptation (with a major illness in December 2023) and an injury in the first half of the 2024-2025 season. Although there has been some improvement since then, he hasn’t fully established himself and rumors are swirling. PSG Inside Actus now reports that a transfer may soon be in the offing, with a meeting scheduled for the end of the season.
“Having arrived in the summer of 2023, Gonçalo Ramos could leave Paris Saint-Germain at the end of the season. The Portuguese striker, lacking playing time, is seriously considering a move.
According to reports, the Parisian management will not oppose his transfer in the event of a satisfactory offer. A replacement would then be recruited to strengthen the attacking sector. A meeting between the player and PSG management is scheduled for the end of the season to clarify his situation.”
It’s a relatively logical outcome for the time being, given that Ramos can’t be satisfied with an understudy role for long. Just as PSG may need a striker who manages to be even more decisive when given opportunities. The Portuguese can impose himself at the highest level, but he seems to be lacking confidence of late.
Beware, though, nothing is certain yet. The striker can still score points, perhaps play a little more and still fight for his place in Paris. It’s a great team, with great opportunities to be had and titles to be won.
So let’s wait and see what happens, because soccer can move very fast. The mercato perhaps even more so.
