As the 2024-2025 winter mercato draws ever closer (January), the rumors surrounding Paris Saint-Germain are piling up. Today, L’Equipe reports on contract extensions, or not, at PSG. An important factor in determining who might be available on the market, even if it’s more likely to be next summer.
“Negotiations with the two Portuguese players are almost complete.
“A few days ago, Achraf Hakimi signed a new lease with Paris-Saint-Germain, now binding the two parties until 2029.
For Paris, the session of extensions is far from over. Nuno Mendes (2026) and Vitinha (2027) are due to sign in the coming weeks. Negotiations with the two Portuguese players are almost complete.
4 professional players in doubt?
The cases of Gianluigi Donnarumma (2026), Marco Asensio (2026), Presnel Kimpembe (2026) and Arnau Tenas (2026) have yet to be decided.
Then, as is the case every year, there is the thorny issue of managing the first professional contracts. Ibrahim Mbaye (2008) and David Boly (2009) have already been mentioned and discussed. Axel Tape (2007), who trained with the professionals on Thursday, is also concerned, while Naoufel El Hannach (2006) has already signed an extension.”
Everyone agrees that Hakimi has extended his contract, so it’s hard to have any doubts. It would be very strange if all the media were wrong. This is excellent news, as the Moroccan is a benchmark in his position and now a vice-captain at PSG.
Nuno Mendes and Vitinha are also making their mark in Paris, so let’s hope they follow suit. Here too, the media agree that things are moving in the right direction. We should be able to celebrate soon, even if we remain cautious until it’s official.
Donnarumma, Asensio, Kimpembe and Tenas are less certain. Even if, here too, we’re cautious about rumours. Not so long ago, discussions seemed very positive with the former. For the others, the uncertainty is easy to imagine.
Asensio did well at PSG, but there’s a bit of irregularity and a lot of competition. There’s no certainty about Kimpembe’s level when he returns from injury after a year and a half, or whether he’ll be able to keep up. As for Tenas, he’s currently number 3 and a departure wouldn’t come as a surprise.
We’ll also be waiting to find out more about PSG’s Titis players, who are always in a tricky situation between hopefuls and the need for playing time, while other clubs are often on the lookout.
