Alexander Isak, the 25-year-old striker from Newcastle (contract runs until 2028) and Sweden, is one of a number of players rumoured to be in Paris Saint-Germain’s sights for the mercato. According to PSG Inside Actus, he’s now even the priority.
Too high a price?
“The Swedish player has become the Parisian club’s top priority for strengthening its attack in the summer of 2025. PSG is not the only club interested in Isak.
Arsenal also showed a keen interest, but failed to reach an agreement with Newcastle. Barcelona and Juventus are also interested. In addition to Isak, PSG are also keeping an eye on Viktor Gyökeres of Sporting CP and Victor Osimhen of Napoli, but Isak is clearly at the top of the list at present.
Newcastle are keen to retain their star striker and have reiterated their desire to see him stay at the club. What’s more, with an estimated price tag of €100 million, Isak’s transfer would represent a major investment for PSG.”
That’s not impossible, as Isak is a lesser-known player than Gyökeres, but he’s still very interesting from a sporting point of view. Perhaps he even fits in better with coach Luis Enrique’s game, with his participation in the game and a little versatility.
In any case, he’s a top-class striker, and attempts would be quite understandable. Possibly from PSG. But we remain cautious, as nothing has been decided yet.
There have been a lot of rumours recently, and that’s going to continue for a while yet with the winter mercato starting in January. Except that there’s been nothing concrete. Isak may have other ideas than PSG, so may his club, and Paris undoubtedly has other leads. Gyökeres certainly being one of them.
