Franco Mastantuono, a 17-year-old attacking midfielder under contract to River Plate until December 2026, is a new talent on the Argentine soccer scene. Recently, he has been rumoured to be a potential target for Paris Saint-Germain this summer. Journalist Ben Jacobs asserts this Monday that the player does indeed want to come and that a negotiation under his release clause is possible.
Franco Mastantuono wants to join PSG.
“Franco Mastantuono is interested in joining PSG and negotiations with River Plate are expected to progress in June.
PSG are said to be open to Mastantuono playing for River Plate at the Club World Cup, so there’s no rush to conclude an agreement in the next eight days.
Strong competition.
However, several other suitors are in the running. Atlético Madrid, Barcelona and Real Madrid are all interested, and Manchester United are also keeping an eye on the situation.
The release clause is €45 million, but River Plate are reportedly open to negotiation, as Mastantuono only has 18 months left on his contract.”
We remain cautious, as these are only rumours at the moment. However, several leading journalists, including this one, are pointing in the same direction: PSG could well recruit Mastantuono relatively quickly, but for an arrival that would not be immediate.
But beware: the mercato can change rapidly until a signature is official. And for the moment, there is no confirmation from either a club or the player. Given his talent, he may well attract offers from other top European clubs.
So we’ll have to wait and see what happens with this young Argentinian talent, who has been the subject of rumours for some time. Let’s hope we’ll soon find out.
