The 2025 summer mercato is now open in France until 8pm on September 1, so the rumors surrounding Paris Saint-Germain are piling up. This time, L’Equipe provides an update on PSG’s ideas. These include a meeting already scheduled with a “priority target”. There are also rumours of possible departures, including Gianluigi Donnarumma (26-year-old goalkeeper) and Marquinhos (31-year-old defender and captain). Not forgetting the rumour of the moment: Franco Mastantuono (17-year-old attacking midfielder/winger from River Plate).

“Conclude the dossier as quickly as possible.”

“For several weeks now, Campos has been advancing his pawns underwater in a very specific dossier, while working on secondary leads. Luis Enrique has already been in contact with his priority target, and another decisive meeting is scheduled for the beginning of the week to conclude the dossier as quickly as possible.

the club from the capital hopes to be able to bring in Franco Mastantuono.”

PSG have also targeted a market opportunity they don’t want to pass up: the club from the capital hopes to be able to bring in Franco Mastantuono (17, River Plate) by signing him this summer for an arrival in January 2026. The price is not prohibitive for Paris, and after leaning towards Real Madrid, the young winger seems convinced that he can progress under Luis Enrique in a team that will be just as ambitious next season. The deal has not yet been finalized.

Donnarumma, Marquinhos, Ramos and Lee possible departures?

The rest of the moves will depend on departures. As always, Luis Campos has told his contacts in recent hours that he expects certain players to ask to leave. The case of Gianluigi Donnarumma (under contract until 2026) should be settled quickly, one way or the other. Lucas Chevalier is still on the table.

What about Marquinhos? The captain has told a number of people close to him that he wants to stay in the French capital for one more season, so that he can be fully fit for the 2026 World Cup, his next dream. The door is open for Lee Kang-in (24, tied until 2028) and Gonçalo Ramos (23, 2028), provided the club can afford them. “

There’s a lot of vagueness, as is often the case at the start of the mercato, and even more so when a media outlet wants to talk about several issues at the same time. So we’re remaining very cautious, there’s nothing concrete. There are also several elements that have already been announced.

As far as possible departures are concerned, it’s above all a reminder of what we’ve already seen. And without much clarity. For Donnarumma, an extension remains the most likely outcome. But until this is signed, a new development remains a possibility. As for Marquinhos, he has reiterated his desire to continue at PSG. As for Ramos and Lee, they seem to be candidates, given their roles in the squad, which could be tiring.

As for recruitment, Mastantuono is the most talked-about option and seems to be making good progress. But there’s no official confirmation yet. Caution is the order of the day. The “crunch” part here is the announcement of a priority target who could be arriving soon. Except that there’s no name yet, so we’re sticking with the group. So let’s wait and see. It doesn’t matter, we’d rather enjoy the Champions League.
