Having arrived at the summer mercato in July 2023 from Mallorca, Lee Kang-In, the 23-year-old Korean midfielder, is under contract at Paris Saint-Germain until June 2028, and is playing more in the 2024-2025 season than in his irregular first season. But that’s not quite convincing everyone, which is attracting rumors around the mercato. This Sunday, PSG Inside Actus claims that a departure for a handsome sum is a real possibility.
“Paris Saint-Germain no longer seem to be counting on Kang-In Lee for next season. In the Premier League, several clubs have reportedly shown an interest. But it’s mainly in the Saudi Pro League that Kang-In Lee’s future could take shape. Several Saudi clubs are said to be ready to make a substantial financial offer.“
We remain cautious, as this is just a rumour and nothing concrete. But a departure by Lee this summer is at least not meaningless. He’s struggling to establish himself fully and could see a very high-level competitor arrive in his place.
However, let’s not forget that the staff and the club don’t necessarily make the same analysis as the media or the fans. The latter sometimes expect things from a player that the coach does not. And Lee has done some very good things at times.
Let’s wait and see. The mercato is a long way off, it’s not even the main topic at the moment. Lee also still has something to say about the end of the season.
