Having arrived in the 2023 summer mercato from Inter Milan, 30-year-old defender Milan Skriniar has not made the move to Paris Saint-Germain. His contract expires in June 2028, and he has been loaned out to Fenerbahçe for the remainder of the 2024-2025 season. He has bounced back well and there has been talk of a permanent move to the Turkish club this summer. On Tuesday, his agent gave Sport24skl a clear update.
“A hot transfer topic awaits us during the summer period.”
“There’s no chance of him returning to PSG under Luis Enrique. Fenerbahçe want to recruit him. It seems that such cooperation would be beneficial for both parties. I don’t see a transfer to Milan or any other club as very likely.
Skriniar is very comfortable in Turkey and, above all, he plays soccer regularly. That’s why we’ve got a hot transfer topic lined up for the summer.”
It’s good to have some clear talk about the mercato, even if everything hasn’t been settled yet. Discussions have to go ahead until an agreement is reached, which isn’t always easy, even when all parties have the same desire. Nobody’s going to give anything away.
But a transfer to Fenerbahce seems quite likely. This is very good news for Skriniar, who was a little lost at PSG, and for the Parisian club, with a sale taking shape for a player who no longer had a place in the squad and has a high salary.
