Paris Saint-Germain head coach Luis Enrique (2nd) spoke at a press conference this Friday ahead of tomorrow’s match against Metz (18th) at Stade Saint-Symphorien (kick-off at 7 p.m., CET) for Matchday 16 of the 2025–2026 Ligue 1 season. On the sidelines of the event, the Spaniard also spoke to PSG TV.
Luis Enrique: “What we like is that all the players are ready.”
Can Safonov’s performances call the goalkeeper hierarchy into question?
“What we like is that all the players are ready. Safonov has shown that he is ready, he’s in a very good moment, and that’s very important for the team.”
Is it essential to be able to rely on everyone?
“This year especially, because we’ve had more injuries. But not more than other teams, and we’ve shown that we can overcome these difficulties to get results.”
Luis Enrique: “You have to know, when you come to PSG, that the club gives opportunities. But you have to show a lot of quality and personality.”
A potential trap match against the team in 18th place?
“It’s part of the coach’s job to know that when you play against an opponent who is low in the standings, it’s always a difficult match. You have to know how to attack against a low block. It’s only three days after the last match, and the three points are very important.”
More academy players on the pitch?
“They’re already all with us! (laughs) They are important for us. You have to know, when you come to PSG, that the club gives opportunities. But you need to show a lot of quality and personality.”
