Ousmane Dembélé, Paris Saint-Germain’s 27-year-old striker, spoke to beIN SPORTS after the 2-4 victory over AS Monaco (video summary Monaco/PSG) on Wednesday at the Stade Louis II in the advanced match of Matchday 16 of Ligue 1 2024-2025. He spoke of a complicated but well-deserved victory, despite a period of slump.

Dembélé: “We deserve this victory”.

Wasn’t it an easy win?

Yes, of course it was a difficult match, but we know that Monaco are a good team. We’ve seen them in the Champions League and in the league. We did everything we could to come away with the win, but it wasn’t easy. Monaco took the lead, but we came back to score too. I think we deserve this victory.

Dembélé: “We weren’t focused for at least fifteen minutes.

Did you ever get out of your stride despite the disruptive elements?

Yes, we stayed in our game. Especially as we weren’t focused for at least fifteen minutes. In the second half. We paid a heavy price against a team like Monaco, but we managed to stay in the game and come back.

How are you feeling?

Yes, it’s good, the statistics are there, but we can still do better in terms of match content. I’m happy, we’re going to carry on like this and prepare for the Coupe de France.
