As part of the 16th day of Ligue 1, Paris Saint-Germain travelled to face AS Monaco. After the 2-4 victory, Paris coach Luis Enrique spoke to PSG TV about his players’ performance.
Enrique “Every time a player comes on, it helps the team”
“We started the game very well, with the intention of winning and not coming here to speculate. We had a very full first half, with plenty of chances to score. In the second half, the game turned on its head when they equalized and took the lead.
Those ten minutes could have cost us dearly, but we recovered, equalized quickly and the team continued to show the things we’ve been looking for since the start of last season, and I’m very happy about that. Every time a player comes on, it helps the team and we improve our performances.”
An important victory for PSG, who went to one of their direct championship rivals just before the short international break. With their ten-point lead, the Parisians have confirmed their dominance of Ligue 1 in the first half of the season. For a team in difficulty, regressing following the departure of its major star, Kylian Mbappé, this remains a performance to be commended.
On Wednesday, the capital club once again confirmed its good form and, above all, its progress in recent matches. A trend that allows us to look positively towards the new year ahead, filled with high-level objectives. Today, we can only rejoice at the PSG version of Luis Enrique, who is gradually building himself up and starting to post more than satisfactory performances.
