This Tuesday at 9 p.m. (CET), Paris Saint-Germain (Ligue 1 leaders) will face AS Monaco (8th) at the Stade Louis II in the first leg of their 2025-2026 Champions League playoff (the second leg is on Wednesday, February 25). According to L’Equipe, PSG will have at least 1,000 away fans in the stands.
“Ranked at level 2 out of 5 by the National Division for the Fight Against Hooliganism, the security arrangements for the playoff match between Monaco and PSG take into account the risk associated with the presence of Marseille supporters in the area.
1,000 PSG supporters are expected at the Stade Louis II. The protocol will be the same as for a Ligue 1 match: buses will be escorted to the stadium by motorized police. As in Brest last year, it is likely that other Parisian supporters in the region have purchased tickets and will be spread throughout the stadium. A security meeting is scheduled for today to finalize the arrangements.”
The numbers aren’t impressive for a Champions League match, but considering the capacity of the Stade Louis II (18,523 seats), it’s a very good turnout. Enough to fill the away section and undoubtedly encourage the team throughout the match. It’s a common practice for Parisians, often highlighted by coach Luis Enrique. And they might well be joined by other supporters in the stadium. We can only hope the team will be up to the task and enjoy a great evening, before the return leg at the Parc des Princes. All this, of course, without incident.
