On Saturday, as part of Matchday 14 of the 2025-2026 Ligue 1 season, Paris Saint-Germain (1st) will face Monaco (8th) at the Stade Louis II (kick-off at 5 pm, CET). The referee for the match has been chosen: Clément Turpin (43 years old). He has extensive experience in Ligue 1, having officiated 306 matches.

The referee will be assisted by Nicolas Danos and Benjamin Pages. Ruddy Buquet will serve as the fourth official. Video assistance will be provided by Jérémie Pignard and Gaël Angoula.

Yellow cards –

With Mr. Turpin as referee, we can expect relatively few yellow cards to be shown during the match. Indeed, while the national average per match is 3.53 (standard deviation of 0.39), Saturday’s referee has averaged 3.17 yellow cards per match throughout his Ligue 1 career (Transfermarkt figures). This must be due to good management and not to players being insufficiently protected. Given his experience, we can hope so.

Direct Red Cards –

The man with the whistle this Saturday is stricter when it comes to direct red cards. Turpin has an average of 0.20 dismissals per match in his career, while the national average per match is 0.17 (standard deviation of 0.07). Therefore, there is no question of letting bad actions or behavior go unpunished.

Second Yellow Cards –

Clément Turpin doesn’t typically send off players after their first yellow card in a Ligue 1 match. The national average is 0.09 (standard deviation of 0.03), while his is 0.07. With few yellow cards and more frequent red cards, this is quite logical.

Penalties –

Finally, regarding penalties, the referee on Saturday was below average with 0.32 penalties awarded per match, while the Ligue 1 average is 0.34 (standard deviation of 0.08).
