Warren Zaïre-Emery, the 19-year-old Paris Saint-Germain midfielder, spoke to beIN SPORTS after the 1-0 defeat against Monaco this Saturday at the Stade Louis II in Matchday 14 of the 2025-2026 Ligue 1 season.
Zaïre-Emery: “We have to keep our heads up, keep working.”
Can we find any explanations after this defeat?
Monaco came out and pressed us hard, playing with a lot of intensity. They were strong in the duels, and we knew it was going to be difficult.
But that’s how it is. You can’t always win, and we have to keep our heads up, keep working, and try to win as many matches as possible because today we dropped three points, and they’re important. We’ll have to keep working and win the next matches.
Zaire-Emery: “They played with much more intensity, they were more precise.”
Is it the run of matches that’s leaving you feeling less energetic?
Of course, there’s a lot of matches in quick succession, but that’s not an excuse. We’re playing against a team that also plays every three days, it’s the same for them. They played with much more intensity, they were more precise, they knew how to make the difference. That’s just how it is.
We have to learn. When you can’t win, you have to learn how not to lose. We’ll know for next time, we’ll give you our all.
