The 2025 summer mercato is now open in France until 8pm on September 1, so the rumors surrounding Paris Saint-Germain are piling up. This time, RMC Sport takes a look at the PSG mercato. It includes the latest leads, with Rodrigo Mora (18-year-old attacking midfielder from Porto and Portugal) and Ilya Zabarnyi (22-year-old defender from Bournemouth and Ukraine). There are also a few ideas for a midfielder and an understudy for Achraf Hakimi (26-year-old right-back). Not forgetting the futures of Parisians Senny Mayulu (19-year-old attacking midfielder), Gianluigi Donnarumma (26-year-old goalkeeper), Gonçalo Ramos (23-year-old striker) and Lee Kang-In (24-year-old midfielder/striker).
Mora not coming, Zabarnyi and a midfielder perhaps.
“Rodrigo Mora will not be joining the Parisian ranks next season, however. The club’s management do not wish to stand in the way of promising youngsters already in the squad, such as Senny Mayulu. An offer to extend his contract is expected shortly.
Ukrainian central defender Illia Zabarnyi is still a Bournemouth player. But this is far from over. In fact, Nasser Al-Khelaïfi has decided to get involved in the matter to help break the deadlock.
If the transfer of Rodrigo Mora does not go ahead, an arrival to densify the Parisian midfield is not excluded, but the profile of the targeted player will be different from that of the young Portuguese. Although the name of Serbian attacking midfielder Andrija Maksimovic (18) – who has just signed for Leipzig – may have been circulated, PSG never made an offer for him. Instead, scouts have been keeping an eye on him.
A hoped-for understudy for Hakimi.
On a more general level, Parisian managers are keen – opportunities permitting – to double every position in the squad. PSG are keeping a close eye on the market for right-backs, with a view to offering an understudy to the inevitable Achraf Hakimi, who is due to take part in the African Cup of Nations with Morocco later this season.
Another hot topic this summer is the extension of Gianluigi Donnarumma’s contract. Negotiations are continuing, but to no avail. However, a number of clubs are obviously interested in his profile. Not least Chelsea, who are dreaming of installing him in goal and are keeping a close eye on his situation.
Ramos and Lee far from gone.
As far as Gonçalo Ramos and Lee Kang-in are concerned, at the moment there’s nothing to say that one or both of them will leave PSG, although their situation may change quickly. if both players ask to leave, there will be plenty of people trying to secure their services.”
There are elements that can be “interesting”, ‘exciting’ or “disappointing”, but the main thing to remember is that there’s a lot of vagueness. In any case, you always have to be cautious about rumours. And as is often the case, there’s nothing concrete here.
It’s hard to see clearly when some media outlets are talking about an interest in Mora, but this is dismissed here. This is to give time to Mayulu, when both could have room in the squad. We also note the sports media’s mention of Andrija Maksimovic (18-year-old attacking midfielder who left Belgrade for Leipzig). His agent has confirmed talks with PSG, but RMC Sport reports that he has only been “supervised”. So it’s hard to trust everything.
However, it’s not hard to imagine that PSG want to find a replacement for Hakimi. At least, that’s what everyone is stressing, as midfielders João Neves (20), Warren Zaïre-Emery (19) and Mayulu have turned out to be positive. Except that there are no clear leads at the moment. So we’ll have to wait and see.
Donnarumma’s future is still being discussed in the media, so we can only go by what has been concrete: the enthusiastic statements made by the goalkeeper and his agent. As for Ramos and Lee, there are several rumours, but not the slightest confirmation. So we’ll just have to wait and see.
