Germany coach Julian Nagelsmann was in a press conference to talk about the Nations League semi-final against Portugal. In particular, he was asked about Vitinha, the 25-year-old Paris Saint-Germain midfielder and Portuguese international.
Nagelsmann “’they totally deserved it, not just because of the final.”
I think all PSG players can apply for a starting berth. That’s both an advantage and a disadvantage. They’ve had a heavy physical workload, with a lot of matches recently. And I don’t know exactly what they’ve been up to since then, but I suppose they’ve been celebrating a bit, maybe even drinking a bit (smiles).
They’re very good players, and they’re coming in with real confidence thanks to this title, which they’ve totally deserved, not just because of the final, but also for everything they’ve shown in the league phase and in the run-up to it. They really played some excellent soccer. Especially the two midfielders, who were very difficult to control.
Nagelsmann “He’s one of the most consistent players.”
Vitinha, for example, touches a lot of balls, runs everywhere. I don’t know how many kilometers he covered in the final, but it should be close to 14! He’s one of our most consistent players. He had an exceptional Champions League, with great influence at PSG and a real impact on the national team too.
