Luis Enrique, Paris Saint-Germain coach, spoke to PSG TV after the 4-0 victory against Nice this Saturday at the Allianz Riviera in Matchday 27 of the 2025-2026 Ligue 1 season.
Luis Enrique: “I’m very happy with our mentality.”
“It was very important. We knew before the match how difficult it would be to play after the Champions League, which is normal. And if you look at the results after these kinds of matches, it’s always complicated, especially here in Nice. We encountered some difficulties, but I like the way we prepared for the match and the way we started it.
I’m very happy with our mentality; it’s important for confidence and for the team. Now we need to rest, think about returning from the international break, and prepare for the league match.”
Luis Enrique: “I’m particularly pleased with these players who showed that we have quality.”
“We saw a lot of different things, with Nuno Mendes playing as a winger rather than a full-back. Lucas Hernandez started and he was outstanding. There was also Dro, and Lucas Beraldo who played in a different position.
That’s something I like because it shows the players’ ability to play in different positions. It also shows the team’s mentality, which is to always be thinking about attacking. I’m particularly pleased with these players who showed that we have quality.”
After RC Lens’ 5-1 victory, PSG needed to win against OGC Nice. A trip to the Alianza Riviera is never easy, especially just a few days after a Champions League match and qualification. But Luis Enrique’s men were disciplined on Saturday and gave their opponents no chance.
Even though the sending-off and the penalty earlier in the match proved to be turning points, the Parisians were already dominant. They needed to capitalize on their opportunities, and they did so four times. It’s a well-deserved victory that allows PSG to enjoy a peaceful two-week break before a return to competition that promises to be just as exciting.
