Slightly injured, 22-year-old Paris Saint-Germain midfielder João Neves missed Portugal’s opening match against Wales (1-0). However, his coach, Jorge Jesus, confirmed in a press conference that he would be available to face Norway this Sunday.

“As for João, he arrived from PSG with an issue. I spoke to him, and he had an MRI. I can tell you now that—since the match against Wales has already passed—I had told him: ‘I won’t play you in that match, but I will play you against Norway.’ So, he will play on Sunday.”
This is good news for the player, the national team, and PSG alike. His injury was not particularly serious, meaning he will be able to take part in Sunday’s match. Hopefully, there will be no setbacks, given that Neves has struggled to string games together recently.
For its part, PSG faces important fixtures in October, both in the league and the Champions League. Having a fully fit squad is essential, and that obviously relies on the presence of key midfield players.
