Nuno Mendes, Paris Saint-Germain’s 22-year-old left-sided piston, has extended his contract until 2029. Speaking to PSG TV, he expressed his pride at continuing the Parisian adventure. He reminded us that he grew up in Paris, and delivered a fine message to the fans.

I’m very proud to extend my contract with Paris Saint-Germain. It means a lot, because it’s a great club, a club that has always had great players and top players in the world. I like it, I’m happy to be part of this history, this club. PSG is special, it’s like a family for me, and I think it’s the same for me and my team-mates too.

It’s a club that welcomed me well when I arrived, I arrived very young for me, it was different, a different country. They made me feel welcome, and I have to thank them for everything they’ve done for me up to now. I’ve grown up and learned a lot from the players who’ve come through here. I’ve gained a lot of experience and you’re always learning, that’s why I’m here, to learn and grow. I think I’m succeeding and I’m always trying to keep going.

It’s important to have good supporters here in Paris, they’re supporters who don’t give up. They sing right up to the last minute, and that’s very important for the players, because when we’re out on the pitch, we don’t listen much, but we know they’re there. It’s very important for us. It shows on the pitch. When we finish the match, we thank our fans, and for me especially, it’s incredible.
