On Wednesday, Paris Saint-Germain released a short statement announcing Lucas Hernandez’s departure from the squad. The 29-year-old PSG and Equipe de France defender is joining his partner for the birth of her daughter.
“In agreement with the sports management and technical staff, Lucas Hernandez was authorized to leave the squad at the end of the day, to join his partner in Miami, for the birth of their daughter.”
This is excellent news for Hernandez, with an event of course more important than soccer. It’s a pity that he’s going off the pace a little while PSG are through to the last 8 of the Club World Cup (this Sunday at 6pm against Inter Miami), but that’s nothing compared to this very special moment.
