Luis Campos arrived at Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2022, replacing sporting director Leonardo, but with a special role as “soccer advisor”. His track record has long been a regular topic of debate, with rumours of his departure. But there were also rumors of an extension, and this is now the official outcome.
After months of rumours, we’ve finally reached the end. And for a while, at least on the contractual side. 5 years is quite a long-term commitment. It shows that PSG has clear ideas about its project and that Campos intends to continue building in Paris. Even if we know that soccer can move very quickly, with a departure not unthinkable before 2030.
We also note in passing that the contract is with QSI, so PSG is not the sporting consultant’s only mission. Although this is obviously an essential point. And, despite the doubts of some, the work accomplished is of a very high standard. It could even be given greater prominence by the media.
Some of whom are happy to point out that they announced this probable extension at some point. But some of them forget to point out that they also claimed that Campos was on his way out of PSG.
