Thiago Silva, the 41-year-old defender who has played for major European clubs including Paris Saint-Germain (2012-2020), is returning to Europe after a stint at Fluminense. Following the end of the season in Brazil, FC Porto announced his signing on a six-month contract with an option for a year.
The Brazilian had a brief stint at Porto in 2005, so this is a return 20 years later in a very different situation. Thiago Silva may be embarking on his last adventure in Europe (one could think so, but you never know). A significant one, however.
The Brazilian is aiming for the World Cup this summer, as well as trophies, since Porto is still in contention in the league and the Europa League. It will be a challenge to watch, and we wish the former Paris Saint-Germain captain the best of luck.
