This Sunday, Paris Saint-Germain (1st) will face Olympique de Marseille (7th) at the Stade Vélodrome for matchday 5 of the 2025-2026 Ligue 1 season (kick-off at 8:45 PM, CET). On Friday, Le Parisien newspaper published a probable starting lineup for PSG.
Barcola – Ramos – Kvaratskhelia
Ruiz – Vitinha – Zaïre-Emery
Mendes – Pacho – Marquinhos – Hakimi
Chevalier
This is a perfectly plausible lineup, given the current injuries, but we remain cautious as coach Luis Enrique doesn’t give away too many details to the press and is known to surprise. We saw this again on Wednesday in the Champions League with the starting XI, which included Senny Mayulu, a player not predicted by the newspapers (who had suggested Lee Kang-In or Ibrahim Mbaye).
However, a general idea is emerging, quite logically, with a very competitive starting eleven and a rotation that seems likely for the next match, perhaps against Auxerre on Saturday. The “Classique” (Marseille derby) must be taken very seriously, even if there might be some changes in this very strong squad.
There had been talk of Bradley Barcola (the 23-year-old forward) starting on the bench, as he was rested during training on Saturday due to muscle fatigue. But, precisely, this could have been done with the intention of starting him for the Classique.
