Victoriano Melero, CEO of Paris Saint-Germain, is putting the future stadium project back on the table this Tuesday. According to information shared by L’Équipe, the Parisian executive is meeting with the mayors of Poissy and Massy to revive a process that was put on hold during the municipal elections.

“The aim is to resume discussions after the break for the municipal elections.”

“The European champions are not abandoning the Poissy (Yvelines) and Massy (Essonne) projects. According to our information, this Tuesday Victoriano Melero, the PSG CEO, will meet with the mayors of the two suburban towns: Sandrine Berno Dos Santos (LR) and Nicolas Samsoen (UDI). The aim is to resume discussions after the break for the municipal elections, get back into the swing of things, and restart the local steering committees. The two mayors, who were re-elected, have announced they will hold consultations to gather feedback from their constituents.” PSG has announced its intention to decide on the future of its stadium this fall.

This new point of contact serves as a stark reminder of one thing: Paris Saint-Germain is not in a final sprint, but rather engaged in a long-term project, one that is politically, territorially, and methodically complex. The very fact that discussions have to resume after the election break, that steering committees have to be reactivated, and that local consultations are still pending demonstrates that the club is operating on a much broader issue than a single real estate decision.

Poissy and Massy remain two fully explored options, with feasibility studies, considerations of integration into the local area, mobility, and quality of life already identified in the methodology presented by the club. In other words, this Tuesday meeting doesn’t bring anything to a close: it restarts a long, structured process, inevitably subject to several levels of validation before the announced decision this fall.

The real reminder, therefore, is this: the future of PSG’s stadium will not hinge on a single announcement or a power struggle. Between political calendar, local consultation and technical studies, the club keeps several doors open and is still in a phase of building the case.
