This Saturday, as part of the 28th day of Ligue 1, Paris Saint-Germain hosted SCO d’Angers (1-0 video highlights PSG/Angers). The victory means the Parisians are now champions of France, six days before the end of the championship. Speaking to PSG TV, 30-year-old defender Marquinhos reflected on the success.
Marquinhos “it shows the work we’ve put in all year, the consistency”
“Incredible, very good. It’s really pleasing, the tenth for me. I think it’s very pleasing because it shows the work we’ve put in all year, the consistency. A lot of people will say that winning like this in April isn’t as exciting, but you know all the work you’ve put in all season, all the effort.
It’s more about valuing our work. I think we’ve played some incredible games all season in Ligue 1 and we really deserve this title. It’s something to celebrate, because I didn’t win it for two years either, and I know the feeling of not winning. So it’s a new trophy which is always a pleasure.”
Marquinhos “It’s my house, it’s theirs too and we’ve been getting on very well for years.”
“I’ve heard that, and it’s a real pleasure. All the supporters I met during the lap of honour had some nice words for me. This is my home, it’s theirs too, and we’ve been getting on very well for years. It’s always a pleasure to have their support.
I always try to show my appreciation for them on the pitch, because pulling on the shirt for them is the most important thing, and I try to do that at every match. Whether it’s in a match or in training, I try to make the shirt stand out and I think that’s what they like.”
