Warren Zaïre-Emery, Paris Saint-Germain’s 19-year-old midfielder, spoke to DAZN after the 0-1 defeat to Botafogo (video highlights PSG – Botafogo) on Friday at the Rose Bowl Stadium as part of Day 2 of the 2025 World Cup. He spoke of this frustrating defeat, without being too negative.
Zaire-Emery “We played our game, we gave it our all.”
Were you surprised?
We knew it was going to be a tough game, the Brazilian teams put on a lot of impact and intensity. But we played our game and gave it our all. But there’s always room for improvement. They played with intensity, and so did we. We didn’t manage to create many chances, and the few we did create we didn’t manage to put away.
A reminder?
No, we always take games in the same way, with our intensity, our pressing and our mobility. We’ll have to keep doing that throughout the competition, because it’s not over yet.
