Paris Saint-Germain beat Brest 3-1 this Saturday at the Parc des Princes as part of Matchday 4 of Ligue 1 2024-2025. After the match, Paris coach Luis Enrique (54) spoke to DAZN. The Spaniard congratulated his opponents and expressed his delight at his team’s style. He also spoke of the goals scored by 27-year-old winger Ousmane Dembélé.

Yes, it was a Champions League match. Before the match we talked about it, they’re a good team, with players who are individually very good. I’d like to say well done to Eric, because it was very tough.

There was a lot of respect for the coach after the match?

It was difficult last season too, and it’s always difficult against Brest, against this team. They know how to play us, they try to cut the team off and play long balls when we press them hard. It’s always very difficult to play them.

The pressing was impressive tonight.

Thank you very much. That’s our style and I think it’s a great feeling to play in front of our fans at the Parc des Princes. Because we can be more or less precise, but we’re going to fight, we’re going to fight, even when we lose the ball, we’re going to go for it. We’ll create more or less chances but we’ll be there.

It’s one of the best things about soccer because the other team has the ball, they’re trying to open up play and get forward, and if you can press them and get the ball back at that point, you’re going to be more dangerous. We try to do that every day, and it’s a pleasure to watch my team.

Are you more satisfied when you win the ball back or when your team scores?

All the time every time, but at half-time I said to the team, we’re playing superbly, don’t look at the result, the score doesn’t match what we saw. Keep playing at this level and we’ll win.

Has Dembélé turned a corner?

You can tell he’s happy, he’s more confident than before. Fabian (Ruiz) also scored a great goal today, and he can do it with the national team as well as PSG. We’re very happy for all of them – we played very, very well today.
