Ousmane Dembélé, Paris Saint-Germain’s 28-year-old striker, spoke to DAZN after the 4-0 victory over Inter Miami (PSG/Inter Miami highlights) this Sunday at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta in the Round of 16 of the 2025 Club World Cup. He talked about his comeback from injury and his great season.
Dembélé “it felt good to cut.”
How did it feel?
Well, I wanted to get back into the swing of things and get the feel for it. I hadn’t been back on a soccer pitch for 3 weeks now and it felt good to be back. Especially to play like this and with this score and qualification. It’s great.
You’ve taken your time, but the most important thing is the future?
Yes, after the Nations League I spoke with the staff and said I was going to take my time before coming back. It wasn’t a major injury, but I had to take my time so that the scar would heal properly and that way I’d come back fresh and it did me good to take a break. The important games are about to start.
Dembélé “I’ve worked hard this season and it’s been a success”.
I’m very happy that you’ve become effective in front of goal, it’s very important.
Thank you, thank you, it’s a pleasure in any case. I’ve worked hard this season and it’s been a success for me, especially personally. I’m happy and I hope to finish this season with the World Cup.
