Willian Pacho, Paris Saint-Germain’s 23-year-old defender, spoke to DAZN after the 4-0 victory over Inter Miami (PSG/Inter Miami highlights) at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta on Sunday in the Round of 16 of the 2025 Club World Cup. He spoke of his place in Paris.
Pacho “It’s phenomenal for me in Paris.”
How have you progressed since arriving in Paris? Are you learning a lot from Marquinhos?
Yes, since I arrived the team has been incredible for me. It’s been very easy to integrate because it’s a very young team and they’ve always helped me. They’ve made me feel really good, Marquinhos and all the others too.
Off and on the pitch, they always support me and when I’m not doing so well, they still support me and I try to help them sometimes. It’s phenomenal for me here in Paris.
Pacho: “I have to take responsibility and trust.“
You’re going to have to take the defensive reins for Marquinhos because he won’t be able to play every game.
Yes, I know we’re always talking about how I need to improve. I’ve got to take on the responsibility, the confidence and I’m trying to improve every day at every training session. He won’t always be there, but I’m always trying to contribute to the game and the philosophy.
