As the Champs Elysées fill up to celebrate the first star of tonight’s Champions League final victory over Inter Milan, Paris Saint-Germain players continue to celebrate with the public and share their emotions with Canal+. Here, Achraf Hakimi, who scored tonight, reflects on this historic moment and legendary 5-0 victory (video highlights PSG/Inter Milan).

Achraf Hakimi: “It’s a historic moment, there’s never been a 5-0 final”.

What goes through your mind at the moment of the goal?

The truth is, there’s a lot of emotion. We’ve been waiting for this moment, and we’ve worked hard to make it happen. It was very important, the team and I felt very good and we were sure of the things we needed to do. We got off to a good start and I’m happy to have been able to help the team. We dominated the game.

Is 5-0 exceptional ?

No, we didn’t know it was going to be like this. It’s a historic moment. They said there’d never been a 5-0 final. It makes you want to go on making history. We put in a lot of hard work. I think I’m going to miss enjoying it with the players, the fans and the family. They deserve it too. We wrote the history of Paris Saint-Germain, thank you for everything and thank you Paris.
