Warren Zaïre-Emery, Paris Saint-Germain’s 18-year-old midfielder, spoke to the press after the 1-1 draw with Nanteson Saturday at the Parc des Princes as part of Matchday 13 of Ligue 1 2024-2025. He spoke of the whistles after the disappointment, and the absence of a second goal, which remains very frustrating.
“The whistles? It’s hard to hear, it’s part of the frustration, it’s also normal but it can also boost us to do better in the next matches.
We’re dominating matches but we’re not winning, they create 2 chances and score 1 goal, while we have 20 chances and only one goal. We need to get back to training, clear our heads and keep working.”
It’s hard to argue with Zaire-Emery. The whistles are harsh, but that’s also part of the Parisian situation, which remains in an in-between phase. Playing good soccer won’t soon be enough. We need to score, move forward and, above all, get back to work.
Poor results lead to a lack of confidence. If we don’t, the club could be in for some dark weeks, with little positive to show for it.
