On the sidelines of a press conference on Thursday to discuss tomorrow’s Ligue 1 2024-2025 match against Nice (kick-off 8.45pm, CET), Paris Saint-Germain coach Luis Enrique was interviewed by PSG TV. The interview was an opportunity to discuss the team’s approach to the match and the upcoming Champions League semi-final, with the first leg against Arsenal on Tuesday (return on May 7).
Luis Enrique “It’s important to feel that noise, that pressure.”
Is an unbeaten away record a goal in your mind?
To be honest, never (smile). Because it’s such a difficult record, with over 2 seasons to achieve it. We started thinking about it after we became champions.
How do you keep the players prepared and calm with the LDC coming up and the pressure?
I think the noise around us is important, because it shows that we’ve managed the season well. We want to give our fans the opportunity to make history. It’s important to feel that noise, that pressure.
Luis Enrique “It’s important for us to play offensively”.
What state of mind will you be in against Nice, with the LDC semi-finals also a Ligue 1 unbeaten record up for grabs over the next few games?
We’ll have to stay focused on our objective of controlling both phases of the game, with a quality opponent fighting to qualify for the Champions League. It’s important for us to play offensively, showing our defensive and attacking qualities.
