“In my opinion, the Classique is always a special match. I think we played a good game. It was very difficult because our opponent had the personality to play. But in the end, I think it was the perfect week. We wanted to show our level, it was physically difficult. The Liverpool game was very special: with the journey and everything, I think it’s difficult to play at 100%, but we’re happy to get this result against Marseille. We’re very happy.”
This match was inevitably a difficult one for PSG, who had spent a week completely focused on their Champions League Round of 8 campaign. After the thriller of qualifying, there was inevitably some slackening. Despite this, the Parisians were able to respond and open the scoring quickly.
