Senny Mayulu, the 20-year-old Paris Saint-Germain midfielder/forward, was hoping to use the international break with the France U21 squad to gain valuable playing time and build confidence. Unfortunately, he was forced off in the 41st minute with a muscle injury during the 2–0 victory over Estonia.
The severity of Mayulu’s injury is currently unknown. It appeared to be an adductor issue, but medical tests will be required to determine the exact nature of the problem. At this stage, his spell on the sidelines could prove to be brief—or potentially much more problematic.
One can only hope it turns out to be a minor scare. An injury now—after already seeing limited playing time with PSG earlier in the season—could set him back. For Paris, it also means one less option available as the schedule begins to intensify.
