Ahead of Wednesday’s Club World Cup 2025 semi-final against Real Madrid at MetLife Stadium in New York (kick-off 9pm CET, broadcast on DAZN), Paris midfielder Warren Zaïre-Emery (20) was interviewed in the mixed zone. The opportunity to discuss the keys to the match, as well as the reunion with Kylian Mbappé.
Zaïre-Emery: “We all motivate each other”.
How will you approach this match?
The same way we’ve taken every game this season. We’re happy, we’re positive. We’re also very focused and we’re preparing for the match in the best possible conditions.
Are you preparing like you would for a Champions League semi-final with the same intensity?
Like all the matches we’ve played this season, the coach is there to give us the right advice and motivate us. We all motivate each other and prepare in the right conditions, so we’re ready for this match.
Zaire-Emery “Tomorrow, people won’t be doing him any favours and everyone will be defending their colors”.
How does it feel to be reunited with Kylian?
He’s a very good friend of mine and that’s what we talked about in the French team. He has very good friends here and tomorrow, people are not going to do him any favors and everyone is going to defend their colors.
What do you expect from Xabi Alonso’s team?
I’ve had a look at what they did at the Club World Cup, and we’re aware that they’re a very good team, with some very good individuals. As I said, we’re going to try to play like we did against Bayern Munich, like we did against all the teams this season, and we’re ready to give it our all.
Zaire-Emery: “We’re feeling good, we’re ready and we’re going to play like we always have.”
How are you feeling?
We feel good, we’re ready and we’re going to play like we always have. I think that’s the key to this team, we prepare for the games in the same way and we hope that it’s going to work and that we’re going to get to the final.
