This Saturday, Paris Saint-Germain played their first final, against Reims in the French Cup (3-0 video highlights PSG/Reims), before facing Inter Milan in the Champions League final on Saturday May 31. Speaking to PSG TV, 22-year-old wing-back Nuno Mendes reflected on the victory, which sees the Parisian club lift another trophy.
Mendes “The fans are there with us, at every match.”
“It’s good, it’s a beautiful stadium, it’s big. There are a lot of Parisian supporters. We’re proud of our team. I think we’re on the right path to achieve even greater things. The fans are with us every match. If we lose, if we win, they’re right behind us. It’s important to celebrate this moment with them.”
PSG continue on their way to the summit on May 31, when they face Inter Milan in the Champions League final. In the meantime, it was important to stay focused and not underestimate their opponents in the Coupe de France final at the Stade de France.
The Parisians took the match very seriously, taking a 2-0 lead after just 20 minutes. Despite this, Luis Enrique’s men maintained the same rigor, enabling them to lift another title and arrive in full confidence for this final European match of the season.
