Carlos Soler, the 28-year-old midfielder who arrived at Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2022 from Valencia with a contract until 2027, failed to impress on the pitch and was loaned to West Ham for the 2024-2025 season. He returned to Paris, with a solution to be found for his future. It should be with Real Sociedad. L’Equipe and Le Parisien reported this Friday that the transfer is both imminent and uncertain.
L’Equipe:
“The key to this deal: Umar Sadiq. Real Sociedad would like to sell the striker to have the cash to bring Soler on a permanent transfer. According to Spanish sources, Girona has made an offer to the Basque side.”
Le Parisien:
“The terms of Carlos Soler’s arrival at Real Sociedad have not yet been finalized. It could be a one-off transfer in the event of Umar Sadiq’s departure (Valencia?) or a loan with a mandatory purchase option. The Spaniard is currently ready to make his transfer.”
We’re being cautious; there’s some uncertainty surrounding the deal, and another player would also need to leave for this transfer to be finalized. We’ve seen a lot of talk in recent days, giving us hope that Soler will indeed join Real Sociedad soon. But we are wary of details, which are not really details anyway.
