Lucas Chevalier, the 23-year-old goalkeeper from Lille (under contract until 2027) and a member of the French national team, is reportedly close to joining Paris Saint-Germain in this transfer window to replace Gianluigi Donnarumma (26 years old, under contract until 2026, with his extension currently stalled). Journalist Florian Plettenberg confirmed on Monday evening the trend of recent days: a transfer is taking shape.

🚨🔵🔴 Lucas #Chevalier and Paris Saint-Germain have reached a verbal agreement on a contract until 2030.

Almost all media outlets are now reporting this transfer as imminent. Let’s hope that’s because there’s solid information behind it — not just a rush to be part of the headline story. Caution is still advised, as we’ve seen major twists in the transfer window before, where reality shatters media claims.

So let’s wait before drawing any firm conclusions, even if Chevalier’s arrival appears to be on the horizon. Donnarumma’s departure would make sense if no extension is agreed — but that extension isn’t entirely off the table yet. Officially, no one has closed the door.
