Kevin Trapp, the 35-year-old goalkeeper for Paris FC, appeared on Ligue1+ this Sunday. The former Paris Saint-Germain (2015–2019) and Eintracht Frankfurt (2012–2015 and 2018–2025) player was invited to once again talk about Willian Pacho, the 24-year-old PSG defender he played alongside in Frankfurt during the 2023–2024 season.
Trapp: “He’s someone you can always count on”
“He’s never in a bad mood. We still see each other often. He’s a kind person — someone you can always count on, who’s always delivered on the pitch. He’s an extraordinary presence in the locker room. He used to laugh a lot, even if his match hadn’t gone well; you always felt like he knew exactly what he was doing, especially for someone so young.
He spent two years in Belgium, a year with us, and then went to Paris, where I know how hard it is to perform at that level. When he arrived, it felt like he’d been there for years already, and to me, that’s one of the keys to why they won the Champions League.”
Unsurprisingly, his comments echo what he said recently in Le Parisien. Pacho is clearly a player who’s always smiling and approachable, though not someone who seeks the spotlight off the pitch. The Ecuadorian tends to come across as quite shy with the media.
However, he brings a positive atmosphere to the group while maintaining strong determination — qualities that undoubtedly inspire his teammates. And on the pitch, that attitude is easy to see. Trapp’s words only reinforce the importance of having such a player in the squad.
