This Friday, as part of Matchday 2 of the 2025-2026 Ligue 1 season, Paris Saint-Germain faced Angers at the Parc des Princes. Alexandre Dujeux, coach of the Angers team, spoke to Ligue 1+ after Paris’s 1-0 victory. He discussed the positives, as well as some regrets.
Dujeux said, “That’s a bit of a regret we can have.”
Did your team perform well today?
Yes, we faced a much stronger team than us, we have to admit that, of course, and everyone knows it. We had a game plan where we were very deep on the pitch and we wanted to take advantage of ball recovery. We didn’t concede that many shots and we had four on target; from a game plan perspective, it was consistent. But we lost the ball very quickly because there was intense counter-pressing. That’s a bit of a regret we might have if we had made better use of the recovered balls we did have. We could have been more dangerous.
Dujeux: “I have a squad that fights until the end.”
Is it solidarity that makes you proud?
Yes, we know we have the smallest budget in Ligue 1. Moral values will be important, and I have a squad that fights until the end, because if we had given up, we would have conceded more goals. We have those values, with a young squad, but learning happens quickly. The attitude we were able to put forward, the self-sacrifice and dedication until the end, was good. Afterwards, we would have liked to make better use of our balls, our elimination passes too, and we still have work to do. Tonight, we’re playing against a team that’s much stronger than us, and victory is logical for them.
