Paris Saint-Germain won 1-0 against Angers this Friday at the Parc des Princes in Matchday 2 of Ligue 1 2025-2026. After the match, Parisian coach Luis Enrique spoke to Ligue 1+.
Luis Enrique: “There’s still plenty of time to be at 100%.”
Was it a successful match for you?
It was a match we expected. Angers are very good at defending in a deep block. It’s always difficult to find space, but we’re happy because we deserved the victory.
Was it important to pay tribute to Donnarumma?
Of course, it’s important to always win, and we’re just starting the season; we’re used to playing at a high level, and there’s still plenty of time to be at 100%.
Luis Enrique: “We shouldn’t think about what we’ve won, but rather think about the future.”
Do you want to be 100% ready for the Champions League?
No, you have to be at 100% almost the entire season because every match will be important. You have to be ready as usual; there isn’t just one moment.
How can PSG do better?
I think there are still a lot of things to improve. That’s my motivation as a coach; it’s something I try to pass on to my players, and there’s a lot of room for improvement, in many technical and tactical aspects. We shouldn’t think about what we’ve won, but rather think about the future and what we want to do with it.
