Jurriën Tomber, the 24-year-old Dutch defender for Arsenal, could be added to the list of players unavailable for the Champions League final against Paris Saint-Germain on Saturday, May 30. The usual starter on the right flank, sidelined with a groin injury since March 14, was the subject of some rather worrying comments from Ronald Koeman, the Netherlands national team coach, on the Rondo de Ziggo program.

“Jurriën has been dealing with this problem for some time now. He’s training again to see if he can play in the Champions League final and if he’ll be available for the World Cup. The outlook doesn’t look very promising at the moment.”

For now, Tomber could still be fit for the final and the World Cup, but especially for the international tournament. The Dutchman is not certain to be fit against PSG and he certainly wouldn’t be at 100% after more than two months out and a late return to training. It’s hard to imagine him starting in such a match.

The problem for Arsenal is that their first replacement, Ben White (28 years old), is already chosen. We could see Christian Mosquera (21 years old) again, as against Burnley this Monday. Unless there’s a major upset for Timber, or a surprise move from Mikel Arteta to upset PSG.
