Marquinhos, the 32-year-old captain and legend of Paris Saint-Germain, spoke to Canal+ after the penalty shootout victory (1-1 in regulation time, 4-3 on penalties) against Arsenal this Saturday at the Puskás Arena in Budapest in the 2025-2026 Champions League final.
Marquinhos: “Champion, my brother!”
This year, there’s only joy, no tears?
It’s a different kind of emotion. We went from 0 to 2, it’s incredible. Back-to-back titles. We showed that we really wanted it from the first day we arrived this season. The coach said it himself: it’s hard to win, but to win twice is even harder.
That was the objective, and we showed it with the right mentality today. Today we had the full squad, and the players who came on made a real impact on the team. They came in, they did their job, they took the penalties, and I’m enjoying this because I think the atmosphere at the Parc des Princes was incredible. Thank you Parc des Princes, thank you everyone in Paris, enjoy yourselves. This is Paris! Champions, my brother!
