This Sunday, the Paris City Hall announced major decisions in conjunction with the police prefecture regarding the 2025-2026 Champions League final between Paris Saint-Germain and Arsenal on Saturday, May 30. Even though the match will be held at the Puskás Arena in Budapest, Paris is preparing. It was learned today that access to the Champs-Élysées will be restricted, and it has now been added that there will be no parade in the event of a victory.
“The Champions League final will pit PSG against Arsenal this Saturday, May 30, in Budapest. The police prefecture has taken measures to ensure the safety of people and property for the evening. In the event of a victory, no parade is planned on the avenue, unlike last year.”
This is sad news for PSG supporters and the club, as a major title, one that could mark football history, will not be fully celebrated in Paris. Perhaps a solution will be found for a celebration, but it looks very difficult.
Of course, the priority is winning. And it’s understandable that the recent disturbances don’t encourage law enforcement to allow any leeway. Everyone will need to make an effort, even if some of the problems also come from people who aren’t fans.
