Paris Saint-Germain secured a 4-2 victory over FC Barcelona this Tuesday at the Parc des Princes, as part of the third matchday of the 2026-2027 Champions League league phase. Following the win, PSG manager Luis Enrique spoke to Canal+.
Luis Enrique: “That was the key.”
There was a bit of everything—the win, the goals, the injuries. What stands out to you?
A bit of everything. It was a very high-level match against an incredible opponent, and defending the way we did was extremely difficult. I’m convinced that was the key: the ability of our forwards and midfielders to track back whenever the ball got behind us.
We put in a great defensive effort and won the match against a team that hadn’t lost all season. They’ve been averaging four goals per game, so to concede only two—we’re happy with that.
Luis Enrique: “A player with great experience, always ready.”
Lucas Hernandez had a big game; what led to your decision to play him?
Hernandez is a player with a wealth of experience—he’s always ready, always ambitious, and always capable of doing things the right way. We knew before the match that he would do an excellent job. He’s aggressive, he doesn’t commit unnecessary fouls, and he played an incredible match. He was up against one of the best players in the world.
