Enrique: “When you give away goals like that, it’s normal to lose!”

What’s the latest news regarding Ousmane Dembélé and Achraf Hakimi?

“I don’t know. We’ll have to wait until tomorrow after the tests. Ousmane’s injury has nothing to do with his last injury. And for Hakimi, it’s football, a contact sport. It’s a shame. I remember Musiala’s injury this summer. These are the kinds of situations where you’re just unlucky.”

Was Bayern Munich the better team tonight?

“Of course!” They were superior, they pressed better, they had more chances. We gave them away! When you give them away like that, it’s normal to lose! They could have scored even more. In the second half, we created more, but we had an extra player. We could have drawn.

Enrique: “Since the start of the season, I’ve never had all my players fit at the same time.”

Do you have an explanation for Bayern Munich’s superiority?

“I don’t recall seeing my team play with all the players fit this season. I’m not making any excuses. We have to accept that the opponent is superior. I’m calm and collected because I know we’ll overcome this. I’m waiting for all my players to get back. Since the start of the season, I’ve never had all my players fit at the same time. We knew this could happen. Now is the time to see who’s on our side and who isn’t.”

Enrique: “I need to manage injuries better.”

What was missing from your game?

“No, not at all. If you give away goals at this level, it’s a goal and that’s it. The match changed with the red card, and then we played well. It’s a shame to have this result. I expected better from us. The players we’re getting back from injury aren’t 100% fit. I need to manage injuries better. With my experience, I should be able to do better.”

Where do you place Bayern Munich this season in terms of level?

“We’ll have to wait and see, I don’t know. It will be important to know where Bayern ranks in February or March.”

What did PSG lack to snatch a draw?

“Luck! Success! It’s difficult to attack against ten men. We tried to draw, even though I don’t know if it would have been fair.” We now need to think about the next match.
